SB 19 is legislation that would have ended the practice of taxpayer funded lobbying in Texas. However, Floor Amendment 5, by Senator Nichols, exempted employees of non-profits from the provisions of the bill, allowing these individuals to continue to act as taxpayer-funded lobbyists. For this reason, TFR opposes Floor Amendment 5.
