Representative Simpson grew up in Dallas, Texas and often spent summers and weekends in East Texas. He and his wife, Susan, have been married 25 years and have seven children. Representative Simpson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Avinger Timber LLC, which owns and manages its own timberlands in several counties in northeastern Texas. Representative Simpson has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2011.
